PriusMED completes field test cycle live-streaming under simulated harsh conditions

Ocala, FL – December 2025

NUSAR – National Urban Search & Rescue Conference offered chance for PriusMED to run a field test at the Florida State Fire College | Disaster Medical Solutions Training

As part of the preconference classes of this year’s NUSAR in Orlando, PriusMED was invited to conduct on-site tests outdoors in the rugged terrain and simulated collapsed structures at the Florida State Fire College in Ocala.

Sourced from an AthenaGTX WVSM Pro vital signs monitor, PriusMED was able to stress test real-time transmission of parameters, including 12-lead ECG. Evaluating performance in austere conditions was the goal. Overall results were positive, depending on available bandwidth of cellular networks video quality was well acceptable, and parameter streaming was stable.

Issues identified were based on consumer grade hardware, where Apple products fared better than products operated by Android in terms of overheating at high outdoor temperatures and in direct sunlight. End-to-end tests of newly integrated communication features, including group messaging and file exchange on top of real-time vital sign streaming were conducted with 100% success rate without data loss.

Our thanks go out to Joe Hernandez and MSOC for the continued support and for being an invaluable source of feedback on the performance of devices, software, and user experience.
